Take a Ride on the River is a book with stunning images and great description. You
get the sense that you too are floating down the Colorado, as Audrey Lee narrates and
navigates. This book has it all a history lesson, beautiful pictures and the promise
that something different is just around the next bend. I highly recommend this book!
That's a fantastic book for those who are planning on taking a tour of the Colorado River and those who just want to travel there "virtually".It is packed with very interesting facts. You can tell the author used to be a professional river guide. The images are the best part of this book. Looking at them, you feel like you are there! Loved it!
A mini-vacation and a seamless ride over the placid sections of the Colorado River, tour guide and former river pilot Audrey Lee whets your appetite for the real thing. If you're up for gentle rafting, and an introduction to the history, flora and fauna, petroglyphs, mythology, breathtaking landscape and Mother Nature's artistry captured in photos, you're in for a treat. Enjoy!
As European I've always been impressed by the landscapes in the USA. The author literally took me on a ride on the rivers admiring the canyons through the beautiful pictures in this book. As an art lover I've appreciated the photos and explanations of the rupestrian art found on the rocks.
I can only recommend to read this book and to take it with you when travelling to these locations.
I don't know f it was reading it on my Ipad or if it really was something that happened from changing to digital format but the pictures ended up layered in some spots. Sometimes pictures on top of pictures not to bad because you still see portions of al the pictures. Although it is hard to red the narration when it is over or under the pictures. Over all it was an enjoyable short read.
"Take A Ride On The River" is a very enjoyable book that feels like you're experiencing a tour down the Colorado River with the river guide pointing out the sites and scenes along the way while filling in the blanks with interesting history.

Seven states owe their water supply, in part, to this river, yet few understand the richness and depth of history that is found along the route of this body of water.

This is a true education, from sites, to cultural anthropology, and a very enjoyable, well-written book for anyone to read again and again.
Visiting or taking a ride on the Colorado River -- included in the world's most beautiful and interesting rivers -- should be on everyone's bucket list. This book completely explains why! It will give you a glimpse of how beautiful the river really is and it will also give you enlightening and interesting information about the scenic spots that you will see as you're cruising.

Appreciate nature, stone drawings and maybe a few convenient spots to go to while nature is calling. This will all happen through this book. It's a fantastic way for you to get inspired and motivated to visit and cruise along this one of a kind destination.
